iris van herpen is widely recognized as one of fashion’s most talented and forward-thinking creators who continuously pushes the boundaries of fashion design. at the intersection between precision and chaos, art and science, the human touch and the high-tech, the artificial and the organic. i've always been very curious about this haute couture house, i had the opportunity to work as an atelier assistant. as it is a small atelier, i had a global view on the processus of a garment also see all the steps since the beginning of a collection which was the fall 18 - syntopia until the fashion show. My tasks were diverse, mostly i was in charge of pattern making and sewing by hand/machine prototypes but also develop samples, and contributing to technical sewing solutions, initiation of making files on illustrator for  laser cutting, sourcing fabrics and research manufactures for production. below pictures of garments i worked on:
